Dreams and Dream Interpretation
What is a Dream?
A dream is defined as a sequence of images that pass through the subconscious mind of a sleeping person, much like a movie, except that it carries with it the personal emotions of the dreamer. Everyone has dreams, but most people don’t know that their dreams can have a significant impact on their real life. Dreams can serve to warn, instruct, direct, and foretell future events in a person’s life.
Are dreams significant in a person’s life?
Dreams are known as the messages of the night. They can also be called visions of darkness, because it’s during deep sleep that our inner soul becomes sensitive to the spiritual realm.
Dreams can truly benefit the recipient only when they are properly interpreted. Some dreams occur from having too much activity during the day and serve only to reflect our mood. This kind of dream doesn’t carry any significant messages. There are, however, certain dreams which may serve to bring us warning of future events in our life and these are prophetic dreams to which we should pay special attention.
Types of Dreams
There are basically 3 major types of dreams.
Type I is the carnal dreams that come from the internal soul of the person. Past troubles which we have not properly dealt with can manifest fear, anger, and sadness and can cause recurring dreams.A recurring dream is one which the dreamer revisits over and over again, often every time they sleep.
Type II is the Spiritual Prophetic dream, which is sent by the dreamer’s God. This type of dream almost always speaks about the future and it’s very important to understand and interpret these dreams correctly.
Type III is the dream we get when we are hyper-active during the day. This type of dream is more confusing and leads to disturbed sleep since they are haphazard and disjointed.
In our dreams, we can go anywhere, we can be anybody, and we can do anything. When we dream, we’re like viewers in a movie theater, unable to control what’s on show. We let our mind take over. Sometimes, dreams can be understood in the context of repressed thoughts. Dreaming serves as an outlet for those thoughts and impulses we repress during the day. When we go to sleep at night and slip into our dream state, we feel liberated and can behave and act in a manner that we don’t allow ourselves in our waking life.
Visions and ideas can come from your dreams. Authors, screenwriters and poets turn to their dreams for stories. Artists and musicians explore dreams for their inspiration. Dreams can help us find solutions to our daily problems and see things from a different perspective.
